GBAC 2020 VIRTUAL SENIOR ART SCHOLARSHIP
The Grand Blanc Arts Council sponsored a Virtual Art Show in May to provide graduating Grand Blanc High School seniors an opportunity, despite the pandemic, to compete for the annual GBAC Art Scholarship Awards. The GBHS Art Department facilitated the digital entry process.
Twelve seniors submitted pictures of the artwork they created either at school before closure, or at home while sheltering in place. One to three pieces were allowed in any medium. The Grand Blanc High School Art Department facilitated the entry process.
The judges were impressed by the amount of thought and effort that went into both the artwork and the personal statements. The results were inspiring!
Winners are:
1st Place - $1000 Sarah Schafer
2nd Place – $500 Charlotte Simon
3rd Place - $250 Veda Garrison
It is the hope of the Arts Council that creativity continues to be an important part of students’ lives going forward.
