GBAC sponsored an open house event to kick off the month of February. There was GBAC Board members, member artists and their work, along with several volunteers.
The event gave the public a chance to see what the following weekend events would be like and offered an opportunity for participants to sign up. It also gave the public the ability to meet member artists to discuss and view their work face to face. The event went well, and several people signed up for the sponsored events.
1st Event was Acrylic abstract pour painting. The instructor was Sue Purdy (GBAC Board Member); she introduced the style of work, how the artwork was created, and individually worked with each participant while they produced their own piece of artwork.
2nd Event was Painting on canvas a winter scene showing the ability to create atmosphere and distance. The instructor was Michael Vedder (GBAC Board Vice President); he introduced the style of work, how to create distance and atmosphere, and individually worked with each participant while they produced their own painting.
3rd Event was the creation of a Fairy Garden. The instructor was Debbie Glasstetter (GBAC Board Secretary); she introduced the style of work, how to create a garden yourself, and individually worked with each participate on their garden.
